Dutch VMR Rally 12th September 2009...

The Dutch Section of the VMR (Vintage Minor Register) is holding a late Summer Rally in and around the old Dutch town of Leidon. Leidon is close to The Hague and The Hook of Holland, which of course is served by a twice daily car ferry service from the port of Harwich.

Leiden is very close to a series of lakes just to the North East and the Dutch coast. The ancient town of Delft is also close by as of course is the Dutch seat of government - The Hague (Den Haag).

The format will be very similar to recent UK based VMR Rallies, with the accent on driving our cars in and around places of interest, natural beauty and on quiet roads. The social side of VMR events is as important as the driving and this will be a big feature of VMR Leiden 2009.

Rally Headquarters will be based upon the Orion Hotel on the Island of Kaag which is located between Leidon and Amsterdam. The Orion is a small hotel with just 25 rooms. Access to and from the island is available by ferry 24 hours a day. Special rates for the weekend have been negotiated with the hotel's management and full details can be found on this website:
