Our 12th PWMN POTY Competition
The 2025 and 12th PWMN photographic competition is now open for entries. The 2024 competition had a record entry of 74 images, all competing for the LAT Plate. Alongside the prestigious plate, the overall winner will also receive a £100 Amazon gift voucher in time for Christmas. As has been customary over the past decade, the top 12 images as voted for by the forum’s membership will appear in the Network’s calendar, which will also be available to purchase in late December. A successful competition is totally dependent upon having images to assess and judge. So, I repeat my annual plea to dig out up to three of your favourite Minor, Midget or Hornet photos and send them to chris@prewarminor.com and they will then appear in the gallery below. The adjudication process will take place in early December (see rules below), with the outcome apparent by 6th December, leaving sufficient time for the resulting calendars to be prepared and printed before Christmas. Entries can be submitted at any time between now and 30th November. If other forum members would like to contribute prizes or awards, perhaps for a sub-category, they would be welcome. The resultant calendars will be sold at cost (plus postage & packing), while any unsold items will be donated to the EACH (East Anglian Children’s Hospice) shop in Diss.
Competition Rules
- Images must depict, or relate to, a pre-war Morris Minor, MG M Type Midget or Wolseley Hornet.
- Entries can be accepted in the form of a hard copy, digital file or by the identification of a selected image from those currently appearing on the website.
- Entries are restricted to three per person and are to exclude all images previously entered for earlier POTY competitions.
- The age of the photograph is no hindrance to its inclusion.
- Members can submit their own photograph or nominate another’s image for inclusion in the competition. (If the owner of the image rights is known, that person’s permission to use the image must be sought and obtained before entry.)
- Entries can be submitted with immediate effect. The latest date for receipt of entries is midnight on Sunday, 30th November.
- The winner of the prize on offer will be the entrant and NOT the photographer if these differ.
- Adjudication of the images will be carried out by members of the Pre-war Minor Network forum who will be able to cast their votes via the forum’s in-built polling system.
- Voting will take place between the 1st and 8th December. In the event of a tie for the winning entry, Kate Martin will cast the deciding vote.
- Names of entrants will be withheld until after the conclusion of the voting process.
- Entry is free.
- The winning 12 images will appear in the Network’s 2026 calendar, available for purchase from mid-December onwards, via the website and forum.
