This shot of AVX 80, a February 1934 Essex registered Morris Minor Saloon, looks to have been taken in a leafy suburb in the fifties or early sixties. The unidentified telescopic forked lightweight motorcycle and fibreglass bodied Invacar in the background help to date the photo to this period despite the presence of a Morris 8E saloon and another unidentified late thirties or forties saloon parked behind the Minor. The Invacar may well have been produced in Thundersley, Essex, although other were produced at the AC car manufacturing facility in Thames Ditton, London.
Tony Eldridge has contacted the Network to tell us that he took this photograph in 1957 when he was just a schoolboy. It clearly had a lasting effect as Tony went on to own and beautifully restore another 1934 Minor Saloon, ATO 441.
