This ex Tim Harding archive image has been described elsewhere as a 1933 Morris Minor Saloon. From a quick glance, it’s understandable why. The radiator surround is of the same type, and misreading the car’s registration as OW 2922 (Southampton) could also lead the unwary down that path. A closer examination reveals that the car has the 1932 season Family Eight’s Wilmot Breeden front bumpers and the (unique to this season’s lwb Morris Minor model) Lucas sidelights. The rear door handle is hidden by the car’s front door, which is slightly open, compounding the illusion. It seems likely that the car was registered as GW 2922, a December 1931 or January 1932 London registration. This speculation is not conclusive, and is there something that this writer has missed? The caption on the rear of the photo reveals that the couple’s names are Harry and Olive Harper.
