HX 8738 is a 1930 Morris Minor 5-cwt van, although its registration suggests that it was registered at least three years after that. Little is known about the photograph, apart from the fact that it is known the image originated from R.G. Newman and was found in the Harry Edwards image archive. Loudspeaker vans were usually found at outdoor events as the core of mobile Public Address Systems or PAs for short. (Note how the front wheel has been used as an additional aid to the handbrake.)
