The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.

Marshall supercharged, MG PB (JB 7524) was one of the factory sponsored Cream Cracker team cars for the 1935-36 trials season. This photo was taken at the 1938 running of the North West London Motor Club’s Lawrence Cup Trial held on the 28th May that year. According to Motor Sport the going was tough following heavy rain, well illustrated here by the crew’s need for assistance up a steep slope on Bagshot Heath. The car survives and was owned until recently by the late Peter Green. (LAT Plate C14637 appears here courtesy of Motorsport Images)
