Triple M Corner no.341

By July 30, 2024Triple M corner

The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.

Syston Park was a regular venue for the annual Inter Varsity Speed Trials and was run over a half mile course that was formerly the driveway to Syston Hall. The hall was demolished in 1928. The 1935 event took place on a very wet Saturday in March (23rd) and is covered in full by a detailed report on page 232 of the April ’35 edition of Motor Sport. Here an unidentified supercharged M.G. speeds past the lake and a very scant ‘crowd’ of spectators. (LAT Motor Sport magazine photo appears here courtesy of Motorsport Images)
