Triple M Corner no.362

By December 31, 2024Triple M corner

The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.

It is difficult to determine when this photograph of an unidentified MG M Type Midget was taken, perhaps just pre, or early post-war. The car looks to be a 1930-season model as it is fitted with the smaller wheel centres. Several accessories have also been fitted, including dummy knock-on/off hub caps, mud flaps, rear wing stone guards and what looks to be the factory option rear-wheel carrier, while air-cooling vents have been fitted to the scuttle sides. The driver seems well wrapped up for winter driving, albeit without any protection for his head!
