Triple M corner no.375

By April 28, 2025Triple M corner

The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.

Captain George Eyston was an unsung hero to a generation who grew up in the aftermath of the Second World War. While praises were sung for the pre-war record breakers Campbell, Cobb and Seagrave, Eyston’s achievements were not loudly trumpeted, even though he was the land speed record holder in Thunderbolt on three separate occasions between 1937 and 1939. He also broke many class records in ‘EX’ M.G. Midgets. Here he is pictured at Brooklands on the Railway Straight in EX127 having just negotiated the famous ‘bump’.
