Triple M Corner no.397

By September 15, 2025Triple M corner

The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.

Victoria Worsley (top photo) was an accomplished and well-known female motorsport competitor long before the May 1930 Double-Twelve-hour race at Brooklands. The two photographs appearing here are believed to have been taken at the M.G. works in Abingdon in the run-up to the 17th May, the first day of the two-day event. Victoria and her co-driver, D.G. Foster, brought Midget no. 73 home in 20th place, helping M.G. take the team award, this result firmly establishing M.G. as a true sporting marque.  (Both images from the LAT Collection – Red plates 7755 & 7762)
