The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.
This Motor Sport LAT Collection image was taken on 7th September 1935, just before the start of the RAC Ulster TT at the Ards Circuit in Northern Ireland. The three MG NE Magnettes (nos. 23, 24 & 25) were entered by D.G. Evans of Belleview Garage, Dennis’s brother Kenneth driving no.24, while Richard Seaman was hired to drive no.25. The race did not go well for the three-car team, with Kenneth dropping out after just seven of the thirty-five laps with engine trouble, while brother Dennis finished thirteenth and last in car no.23. Richard Seaman finished in tenth place, the highest-placed MG car.
