The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.
In 1936, 85 MGs entered the MCC’s London – Land’s End Trial, a truly remarkable figure. One of these cars was this 1935 Bristol registered MG Magnette (BHY 431) driven by D.H.C. Fry, a member of the chocolate-producing, Bristol-based, confectionery family. Fry managed to pick his way through the hordes lining this observed section to gain a Premier Award.
