The Triple M series of MG’s all belong to a family of models that commenced with the 1929 MG Midget and continued through to the mid-thirties via a long string of four and six cylinder OHC engined cars that forged the marques identity.
This photograph depicts what is quintessentially an English summer weekend scene. Although the protaganists are not in shot the spectators are almost crtainly watching a cricket match on their village green. The occupants of this 1932 Bristol registered MG Midget (HY 3519) have stopped at the roadside to take in the spectacle and to listen to the sound of leather upon willow and the polite applause that follows the scoring of a boundary. They may even retrieve the ball should it come their way.
